The founder of technology company Qualcomm, Dr. Irwin Mark Jacobs, will resign from office in 2012. Qualcomm has officially announced the resignation of Dr. Jacobs is scheduled to perform at the annual meeting of shareholders next year.

At that time, Qualcomm will give you the title of “President Emeritus Founder and CEO” of Jacobs.

Qualcomm is a pioneer technology code division multiple access (CDMA) cellular radio technology using Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel for its primary 2G technology over the 3G network.

CDMA technology was later used by operators in other areas such as South Korea, Japan, China and Latin America. CDMA technology helped form the basis of all 3G technologies, including Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM).

Dr. Irwin Mark Jacobs is the founder of Qualcomm, who founded the company in July 1985. He later served as chief executive officer (CEO) of Qualcomm until July 2005.

From 2005 to 2009, he served as chairman of the board of directors of the company. Now, still served as a member of the board and the intention to resign and the company’s participation next year.

Dr. Jacobs (78) is dedicated to the world of technology for decades. He received a degree in electrical engineering in 1956 from Cornell University and holds a master of science and doctor of science degree in electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1957 and 1959.

From 1959 to 1966, Dr. Jacobs is assistant professor of electrical engineering at MIT. From 1966 to 1972, he was trusted as a professor of computer science and engineering at the University of California at San Diego.

He once wrote a book on digital communications entitled Principles of Communication Engineering, and first published in 1965. Dr. Jacobs also received dozens of awards in the field of technology from 1980 to 2008.
